For versatility and elegance, swags and jabots can provide the most impact on your windows. The style has been seen in one form or another for many generations, so it is very much “at home” in virtually any room setting, period, or decor.

 

Our swags and jabots feature classic, pleated styling, carefully and generously proportioned. Whether you choose to install your swags in the living room, dining room or bedroom, they can be used alone, layered with blinds, or hung with a flourish over side panels or draperies!

 

Our swags are 18” long, layered over jabots, and attached to a mounting board. We do not recommend swags and jabots ordered as “inside mount”.

• Whenever possible, we will cut swags “on the bias*”.

• Whenever possible, multiple swags will be pattern matched.

• Swags are lined with ivory lining.

• Jabots are self-lined or may be contrast lined. If the face fabric and contrast lining are from two different groups, price the valance based on the higher group category.

• Jabots are pleated up to 12” wide (we will pleat in proportion to the finished valance width- our discretion) and include full returns at the sides of the board.

• Jabots may be ordered up to 36” long. You may order asymmetrical jabots (one side shorter than the other) by indicating left jabot length and right jabot length on the order blank.

• 3” board is standard. 6” board available.

*What is “on the bias”?
Fabric cut “on the bias” means it is cut on a diagonal or 45 degree angle to the straight grain. Swags cut “on the bias” generally hang with softer, more rounded folds than those cut on the straight grain. Certain patterns, however, are unsuitable for bias cuts, in which case, we will use our discretion to cut the fabric for best effect.
